About The Locke And Knox Families Of Newfoundland
Please sign in to see more.
I have much work to do in my research. The Kane side of the family is just about complete.I found from talking to my cousin Terry Hynes there isn`t much recorded history beyond the 1800`s on the Irish in Newfoundland and I`m still looking for inforamation on the Knox and the Locke sides of the family. I will be adding more on the living members as the information comes to me. Please keep checking back and if there is anything you would like me to add or any corrections to be made please let me know. Thanks Eileen

Never Ending

Where is it that I come from?
What is there in a name?
Grandparents that have come and gone,
 In me still remain.

Those little genes they left behind
They make me who I am,
That`s just the way it is you know
 In the great master plan.

There`s Locke,Knox and Canning,
 Tobin McCarthy and Kane,
 There`s Stevenson and many others
 Within me all the same.

The good, the bad, the ugly
The honest, the sober, the true
 The evil and the monsters
 Their inside us too.

Sometimes I go places
 I know I`ve never been,
 And things look so familiar
I feel I`m just back again.

Life still remains a mystery
The questions are always the same,
Where is it that I come from?
What is there in a name?

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
